Last week….we ended on a higher note than we had two weeks prior.
Please note the chart above is missing a week as we ran into data download issues for the week ending September 30. The markets seemed to be a bit wishy washy when trying to decide what direction to go last week. The first two days of the we saw some strong positive gains, while the last three days ended in the red! For the week though we did see some positive gains in a few asset classes.
Based off the chart we have above we can see U.S. mid-growth and value, U.S. small-growth and value, and foreign growth all came in with a bit of a positive trend. The biggest loser of last week was U.S. REITs. This does not come to a surprise as mortgage lending comes to a standstill as interest rates rise!
The market is moving a bit sideways, no major trend up or down this week as it waits to hear new data scheduled to come out this week. As we move into October the 3rd quarter of the year has come to an end and with-it quarterly earnings are upon us. This will be one of the first opportunities for some good news in the markets in recent weeks. As information comes out this week let’s hope the markets respond positively!
