Last week…
The market’s volatility continued.
…And we resurrected a chart we previously used in our weekly updates. You will note we are keeping the bar graph which illustrates the ups and downs of some of the asset classes over a 4-week time span. And for our bottom liner’s we have a more condensed version indicating the movement of asset classes only from the previous week.
As both charts indicate, all U.S. Equities were down from last week. Growth companies were hit harder than value companies and last week Mid Growth took the biggest hit down a little more than 2.5%.
The only Equities that were up from the previous week were Global REITS and Commodities. Commodities are now up over 12% YTD.
Foreign Equities were down more than US Equities, but with Value still hanging on to a positive YTD return. Emerging markets slipped back in the red last week.
Bonds breathed a little life last week. Foreign Bonds, Short-Term Treasuries, Intermediate-Term Treasuries and TIPS were all up from the last week..barely. But it’s positive movement nonetheless
