Last week…

…the chart speaks for itself.

All US Equities were down, except Small Value. We noted the familiar pattern of Value outperforming Growth again.  Even though Mid & Large Value were down from the previous week, it was not as substantial as their growth counterparts.

For another week, REITS, both US and Foreign let off some steam. We’ve not focused a lot on Commodities lately, but wow, are they performing this year! Commodities was our best performer last week, gaining 2.5% bringing them right to the cusp of a 30% YTD return.

Foreign equities displayed the same behavior as the U.S. Foreign Growth took the biggest hit. Foreign Value was still down, but not as much as growth.

With all the red on the equity side, bonds were refreshing to see this week. The majority of the bond indices we watch were up last week!! Let’s highlight these stars below:

  • Short-Term Corporates
  • Short-Term Treasuries
  • Intermediate-Term Corporates
  • Intermediate-Term Treasuries
  • TIPS
